The break in Spring Break is optional! This week I had the opportunity to travel to New York City for an unforgettable experience at the BIG EAST Conference Basketball Tournament!
The trip began on Wednesday when I worked the first round of the tournament in Madison Square Gardens between Butler and Xavier. I produced content for the ButlerMBB Twitter and Instagram, including clipping and posting highlights during the game. Special thanks to John Dedman for providing the chance to aid the team in NYC.
Thursday was action-packed, starting with a tour of MSG by Butler alum Taylor Harmon, followed by a backstage tour at the CBS Sports studio courtesy of Ryan Briganti and Drew Kaliski. The highlight of the tours included the chance to speak with the CBS Sports talents including Butler legend Shelvin Mack before they performed one of their halftime shows.
We capped off our day by attending the 10th BIG EAST Sports and Entertainment Career Networking event. I had the honor to meet with professionals at the NBA, MLB, and BIG EAST while also connecting with aspiring students from across the conference.
This experience wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the incredible Joseph Valenzano III and Gary Beaulieu. We are extremely grateful to you both and the Butler University College of Communication for organizing this trip and supporting my future career growth.
